B-G Class of 1976 Reunion!!!!
Dear B-G Class of 1976 Alums,
This message is to inform you that our class is hoping to celebrate our 50-year class reunion next July in Bainbridge. We are looking at the weekend of July 24-25, 2026 to gather and reminisce about old times. I am also asking all of our local alumni to help me in planning the weekend as, while I live reasonably close to Bainbridge (Hamilton, NY), I will need to lean on any classmates who remain in the Bainbridge area for assistance.
This is just to inform you when we hope to get together to celebrate our legendary class! More specific details will be sent out in a mailing in the near future as we continue to plan for the weekend. An email has been sent out to roughly 50 alumni whose email addresses were on file with the Alumni Association. If you did not receive an email, please email me directly garyweeks16@hotmail.com or provide an email address with the association.
Fifty years is a long time, and I’m sure there are many, many stories to share about where our lives have taken us. I look forward to hearing from you and I hope to see you all in person next July. Anyone looking to help in planning our weekend, please email me or text me (315-750-5942) and let me know you are interested in helping out. I will definitely be looking for help! Thanks so much!!
One last thing…. In an attempt to expedite the process, please feel free to email or text me with your response. The B-G Class of ’76 was a special class and I look forward to seeing all of you at our 50-year reunion next July!! More to come.
Warm regards,
Gary Weeks

Class of ’76 Reunion Update…..
Hi All,
A lot has been going on since my initial correspondence to you regarding our
planned 50 year reunion. After meeting with a few fellow alums, we have put
together a plan.
Here are the plans for the weekend:
First the date: Friday July 24 & Saturday July 25, 2026
Friday 7/24: After speaking with the superintendent, Tim Ryan, we have
scheduled a tour of B-G High School at 4:00 for anyone that is interested. We will
meet at the front steps of the main entrance and he will give us a guided tour of
the building.
After the tour we are welcome to stay and attend the second annual induction
ceremony of the new B-G Wall of Distinction. This is something the district has
created to honor distinguished faculty, staff, and alumni. The inaugural class
included Donald Patchen ’39, Guy Leonard ’40, Gary Seymour ’65, Judy Volkert
’68, DeArchie Stockwell ’68, Bill Michels ’71, John Gliha ’72, and Courtney
Mattingly ’99.
After the tour and the Wall of Distinction ceremony (optional), we will gather at
the Back Door bar in town beginning at 6:00. This is the former Eggleston’s
across the street from Jerry’s. We will have a greeting table for check-in where
you will receive a name tag (please wear it… it has been a long time for many of
us!), and also at the table will be a donation box to help offset initial costs for the
weekend (reserving facilities, any free refreshments/snacks provided, and any
other expenses).
The bar will be open to the public so we will be mixed in with any other locals that
drop in. There is plenty of room in there for us to gather and it will be nice to see
people other than us “‘76ers”!!
In an attempt to make the entire weekend as cost effective as possible,
everything we do over the two days will be “pay as you go”. That way you
can spend what you want and not be financially obligated to the weekend.
This will avoid that feeling of “Did I get my money’s worth?”. You will
spend what you want to spend.
Therefore, there will be a cash bar at the Back Door and they also have very
good food if you want to get something to eat aside from the appetizers/snacks
we will provide. We will stay at the Back Door for as long we want.
Saturday 7/25: We have reserved the large pavilion at General Clinton Park
(3:00-7:00) for us to spend the day. Once again there will be a greeting table for
check-in with new name tags along with a donation box. Tables and chairs will be
available for us to sit and visit with each other. We will also provide some
refreshments (alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages/snacks, etc.) but we also
encourage you to bring whatever you want to the gathering (lawn
chairs…food/snacks… BYOB). We also plan to bring in two food trucks for you to
purchase food throughout the afternoon. Again… the idea is for you to “pay as
you go” so that you control how much money you want to spend.
Fortunately for us, the mayor asked me if we would mind if the village used the
small stage/lawn for a musical performance that afternoon so we will have free
background music!! We will try to have other music available if needed in case
they finish early. Bring your instruments and maybe we can resurrect some B-G
Blues magic! Ha Ha!!
If you have any games (corn hole, etc.) that you would like to set up please feel
free to bring them. Also… any B-G memorabilia (scrapbooks, year books ’73-’76,
pictures, etc.) that you’d like to share is welcome. We will have a table set up for
your viewing. But most of all… bring your stories (past and present) to share. We
are getting together to reminisce and catch up!!
Finally… I have attached some possible lodging opportunities provided by the
Alumni Association. I hope that helps.
We think we have a pretty good plan for the weekend. It will feel like being back
in Bainbridge. Hopefully all of our fond memories will remind us of the great high
school experience we had!
Please continue to reach out to fellow alumni to inform them of our reunion and if
you have not already done so, let me know if you plan to attend. As of this
message we have between 30-35 alums who have committed to attending. We
are certainly hoping for more!!
Let me know if you have any questions or comments. (cell # 315-750-5942)
